Affordable Self-Catering Holidays
At Little Arthur, we have a number of self-catering options available, whether you are a solo traveller, are travelling
as a couple or as a family.
The Backpackers Cabin:
Our Backpacker's Cabin is geared to the needs of the solo traveller. The cabin is equipped to be fully self-catering, offering a full-sized oven, electric hob, fridge/freezer etc. A comfortable single bed in a sunny little bedroom; a dining area for eating or working; easy chairs for relaxing after a hard day on the beach, a decking area for a stretch out on the recliner and a shower/toilet - in all, the cabin provides a well equipped base from which to explore the islands.
Not feeling like cooking?
Then, the cabin is just behind Little Arthur cafe which offers morning coffees and home-made cakes; delicious lunches using island seafood and our own farm salads; how about a cream tea with our own blackberry and apple jam made on the farm or just relax, take in the views and enjoy a summer Pimms. Down the bottom of the lane is Adam's Fish and Chips - come and sample some island lobster scampi and a rhubarb crumble with our own farm-grown rhubarb. The cabin has no sea views but is only minutes away from Par Beach so why not go for a dawn dip as the sun comes up over the Eastern Isles; hire a kayak and paddle out to the uninhabited islands; explore the beaches for rock pools and the wild flowers; paddle in our crystal clear waters; go out swimming with the seals; take a diving lesson or simply stretch out in the sun and feel the sand between your toes.
Bookings are taken Saturday to Saturday only. Prices for 2025 from £350-£385 pw email [email protected]
Mole End:
Mole End is our garden flat for couples, those seeking a little more space or those with a small/medium sized dog. Like the cabin, the flat is fully equipped for self-catering but has all the convenience of being close to the cafe (which also offers Monday night, made-to-order pizzas and Friday Night Bistro meals) There is a double bedroom with small double (4ft) and ensuite shower and toilet. The living area has everything you need for a comfortable holiday whilst outside is a secluded, enclosed decked area, perfect for outdoor dining or simply relaxing with a good book. Both cabin and flat have shared internet access and wifi is also available at the island reading room.
The Perfect Base:
As with the cabin, Mole End does not have sea views but is only a couple of minutes away from the beach and ten minutes from Higher Town Quay. During the summer season, launches depart daily from St Martins to St Marys and then on to the other islands. Consider pony treking on St Marys where you can canter along the sands; visit Tresco Gardens with its world-famous botanical collections; take an evening supper trip to Bryher or go and sample the range of farm made icecreams and sorbets on St Agnes.
Want to stay closer to home? Take a guided tour around St Martins vineyard, just next door to Little Arthur Farm, and sample the local wines and cider. Book in for a session at the island observatory and spend the evening star-gazing. Stroll down to the island pub or take in lunch at the Karma hotel. Alternatively, stick to this end of the island and pop along to the Bakery for sausage rolls or pasties and take tea at Polreath tearoom.
If your tastes are simpler, wander round the coastal paths - we have unique flora and a vibrant bird life. Explore pre-historic field systems, stone hedges and cairns; spot the Bronze-Age "Billy Idol"; trek to Day Mark and walk around this navigational aid from the seventeenth century; picnic amidst the remains of the Napoleonic signal station. Take your historical excursions further, to Cromwell's castle and the block house on Tresco or walk around the garrison on St Marys.
Bookings are taken Monday to Monday only. Prices for 2025 are £475 - £550 pw. email [email protected]

It has one small double bedroom with cosy, 4ft' box bed; a second bedroom with 3ft pine bunk beds. The living area has a fully-equipped kitchen and the dining area looks out across the islands. There is a shower room/toilet, washing machine facilities and a sunny conservatory providing amazing views even on less sunny days. Outside a dining area offers views from the Eastern Isles all the way across to Higher Town quay. Again, the accommodation offers the convenience of self-catering whilst being adjacent to the cafe and fish and chips. The chalet is ideal for small families or people seeking more than one bedroom. We can also accept one small/medium sized dog by prior arrangement.

Little Arthur Flower Farm is, first and foremost, a working farm. We seek to carry on a more traditional island life-style, growing edible crops, keeping sheep, cows and goats that graze the hillsides, producing all-the-year-round flowers, fishing and potting for crabs and lobsters, offering catering based on our own and locally-sourced foods.
Originally, tourism on the island was seen as a means by which farming and traditional skills could be supported - each farm was allowed two letting units with which to subsidise their farming activities. Today, rather than being a means to an end, tourism has become an end in itself, many farms having forsaken farming and concentrating soley on holiday letting. However, at Little Arthur, the farm continues to be at the heart of our activities and way of life, letting subsidising the more important role of growing food, keeping animals and fishing. At the same time, we are able to offer affordable self-catering accommodation so that all may enjoy this piece of heaven.
